New Year, New Venues, New Fans

As we roll into the second month of 2016, we’re excited to be playing two new venues. The first, on February 5th, is the Aqus Café in Petaluma. Our friends Barry and Annie Ernst of “Ain’t Misbehavin’” told us about this place, and we are excited to have the opportunity to check it out. What I like about it is the community focus. When I looked at the calendar, I saw everything from poetry/spoken word to classical music. And everything in between. Lots of thoughtful words about supporting local artists and catering to the community. Our kind of place. Petaluma is still an expanding market for us, and we don’t yet have the fan base there that we have in Marin. But it’s a great town with many great places to make music. Whether you live in Petaluma, or Sonoma generally, or Marin, we hope you’ll check us out there. Look for the calendar for future visits, too!
The other immediate new place for us is Trek Winery in downtown Novato. If the idea of a winery in an urban environment seems surprising to you, you clearly haven’t been to Trek. They press grapes right there (the answering machine apologizes for their being unable to come to th phone because they are “out back, crushing grapes) and offer a large, friendly tasting room right there in Old Town Novato. Over the last few months, we’ve seen lots of music there, and wanted to have our chance to play in the tasting room, which seems more like a living room in some ways—soft couches and chairs and clever décor. And now we have our chance. March 26th we’ll be at Trek for the first time, playing from 7:30 in the evening to 9:30. No cover. Especially if you’ve never been, we invite you to come out and enjoy some of their great wine as you listen to Domestic Harmony.
Of course, we’ll have some new material for you, too. My recovery from the hand injury still allowed me to write and play slide guitar again, among other things. So expect some sounds you’ve never heard from us before, both original and familiar (more or less) covers.
Hope to see you this spring, maybe at one of these two new spots! Check our calendar for these and more.
